SimBachelor

Been reviewing old episodes of SimBachelor and that was such a great concept and show. Low overhead, quick filming, perfect. I think I will revive the show later this year. I know that some of the Apple Valley residents will be in need of a spouse, so perhaps they will be willing to have thier search for a spouse recorded for TV. Perhaps changing the name to Single Sim so either male or females can star.

Instead of filming the series on Apple Valley-there's no room there at all-the contestants could travel to a vacation home and experience the show there. 7 simdays of drama, 4 contestants, 1 Single Sim, very nice show indeed.

All free will activities.

Simday 1-Welcome Ball

Simday 2-Group Date; Hot Tub for 2 hours each

Simday 3-Elimination #1 & Challenge #1 (winner of challenge gets dinner alone with star)

Simday 4-Single Dates (highest scoring date gets extra 3 hours with star)

Simday 5-Elimination #2 & Challenge #2 (winner of challenge gets dinner alone with star)

Simday 6-Love Shack (8 hours in Love Shack)

Simday 7-Final Elimination

Apple Valley's Yummy Channel

I have brought the rights to Apple Valley's Yummy Channel. So the shows that Pennelson Productions (TV Group) produces will aire there. So far the lineup includes: Cooking with Claudia; Tatiana's Tidbits; and Cocktails & Chad. We're working on the logos and producing the final shows-the pilot shows proved successful, so we're going to revamp things and start making some money.

Pahala Shore

Filming is going well, we are doing another intense filming session. We added to the cast-Lucy Bright, a contestant on "Make Me A Model" and Gloria Fardage. Right now thier roles are still small, but there are plans to make thier storylines larger.

We are also losing a cast member permenantly and another one-for an extended time period. I won't say which is which, since sometimes there is room for them to come back and other times thier future storylines die (or get extended).

The series is changing slightly, I'm not sure how to describe it, but the episodes formats are different. Scene changes are not as arupt, characters are developing more and with the smaller cast, we can show more details in a story instead of just telling them in order to move things along. I admit, it is hard not to jump ahead, especially when we have storylines streaching to 2011 and threatening to go beyond that. So at least there will be a soap for the cast...as long as they are willing to work and I am willing to keep them :)

Buying More Rights

Have been thinking about investing in a gossip magazine. Perhaps hosting the magazine and using journalists to collect information-much like STAR, but STAR has been absent from the scene for a few months. Perhaps I should contact Nadine and offer to buy the rights to the magazine and continue it. With PS airing monthly, thus giving me more time to invest in other projects, I think a monthly magazine would be good. There are some cons since most of the information would depend on roving eye journalists, so there would be a very tight production schedule to get things out monthly. However, if we stocked up on celebrity interviews, it could work. Perhaps publishing the magazine six times a year and selling ad space as well. Can you imagine full page ads of the best products in SimNation?

Speaking of ads, Make Me a Model has also been absent for a while. I should ask about buying the rights to that as well.

Pahala Shore

We had a writing meeting to reorder some storylines for the next couple of episodes. Filming has started and we're gaining another cast member. We have to get them through make-up and costumes first. They'll only make a few cameo appreances this season, as will our other new cast member, until we can get thier stories worked in.

Filming is going well, I must comment on Josie Harlow. We filmed a scene in which normally calm Donna gets upset and Josie nailed it on the first take. It was perfect! Unthinkable! I am glad that we're combining some experienced talent with some newer faces. It gives the stories more dimension.

We're also getting ready to say goodbye to another cast member. I think fans will be shocked when they see who it is, but hopefully then critics and fans will see that not ne character is safe on the show and that there is no such thing as an irreplacable "star". The cast member didn't do anything professionally, but we both decided that the character should leave and this gives the cast member time to persue another direction in thier career.

A. Pentragnani

A. Pentragnani has seven models now and I'm itching to do another photo shoot. I have hired a higher caliber photographer and would like to give the site an overhaul, but a behind the scenes overhaul. The website needs to reflect the fact that A. Pentragnani is now an upscale wedding attire fashion house and nothing more. The dresses need to be packed more effeciently and the associated meshes as well. I have a proposal for a custom dress, so this will become a new collection: The Yoo Collection, Far East inspired bridal attire.

Pahala Shore

Pahala Shore is going along nicely, another episode was edited and sent to the network. The network has been having issues with airing the shows, many viewers can not see the show. I will have to keep an eye on the network for any issues. *sigh*

Pennelson Inc.

I have incorperated all the businesses under one mother company: Pennelson, Inc. The website is being revamped to show this. Basically all the Pennelson projects and companies can be found in one easy location. Pennelson Inc contains SiMusic; Pennelson Productions (with it's Studio Group and Television Group); A.Pentragnani; and Pennelson Publishing. I have big plans for each company-which won't start until the second half of the year.

  • SiMusic
  • Create logo for company
  • Sign 3-5 new artists
  • Prepare vintage Alisa Crawston page
  • Send out tour
  • Pennelson Productions-Studio Group
  • Create logo for company
  • Film 1 feature film
  • Pennelson Productions-Television Group

  • Create logo for company
  • Continue Pahala Shore
  • Create for 5 shows for local broadcast
  • A. Pentragnani

  • Create logo for company
  • Create 2 bridal collections
  • Photo shoot for collections
  • Convert company to wedding attire only
  • Pennelson Publishing
  • Create logo for company
  • Sign 2-3 authors for publication

Most of the work is branding and marketing. Once that is complete, then more creative work can be done. There is quite a few RL issues happening the first half of the year so most of the projects are being pushed to the second half of the year.

Pahala Shore Writing

Pahala Shore 2008 has started filming and quite a few episodes are complete and edited. I must admit that I am excited about this season and I find it hard to wait bewteen writing meetings. The characters are growing a bit more and the cast has even remarked that they have been stretched in thier profession. We'll be losing some cast members as well-but we're also gaining more cast members. With the new airing schedule, the storylines have been changed slightly and also some of the cast members wanted to go in other directions in thier life.

Website Renovations

Been working with the web team to revamp the Pahala Shore site, not by much, mostly some organizational changes. Season 5's episodes are all on one page for ease and space saving. We might have to upgrade soon if things get too full.

Working Behind the Scenes

The new sets are almost complete, we're currently trying to find extras to appear in some of the episodes. This 2008 season will have quite a few extras, so we're hiring locals from the island to fill the roles.

PR and Advertising

Part of our budget is now going for advertising. There are now some outlets for my projects to be promoted, so the staff is sending out various ads and commercials to different media outlets including other websites. We'll see if the ratings increase.

Out with the Old, In with the New

Out with the old-
The final episode of Pahala Shore will aire this week and viewers will see which cast members are leaving the show.

In with the new-
Filming for the new season of Pahala Shore will start soon. We are moving to a new area of the island, the older section is overrun with tourist and stalkers. Moving to the new area involves the typical packing up of sets and basically building new sets for the storylines. Scripts have been sent out and contracts renewed. There will be a few new characters added to the series in 2008-some more permenant than others naturally. There are also new developments in the lives of the cast, so some creative filming is in need.

2008 Schedules and Beyond

I sat down with the network again and reworked the airing format.

The Gloria Show is canceled as of immediately. 2007 ratings and technical aspects of filming made the project no longer worthwhile.

Pahala Shore will be picked up for 12 episodes a fiscal year starting in 2008, which means it will aire once a month and no hiatus, so no cliff-hangers over a period of 2-4 months. This also means that storylines will be tweaked a little since we're no longer going to try and have the
episodes follow real-time (ie, students will graduate in an episode aired during May.

Additional Projects:Not sure when the production schedule will start with these projects, but they are on my desk and have the yellow light once a few things with Pahala Shore and Pennelson Productions gets worked out.

Broadcast Television Episodes: will run a test episode with Tatiana's Tasty Tidbits in the local broadcast networks. If successful, will expand the Cooking Network with three shows (bbq demos, baking demos, fresh produce cooking demos) and then offer these shows internationally. Then we will film several commercials, a few exercise videos, expand the SBN channel and more.

Movies: will re-film Sunday and SUPERSTAR: The Alisa Crawston Story to reflect increased technical merit and to shorten the SUPERSTAR feature. Will persue filming the story of Starr Grey.

Make Me A Model, 2: Signed up as a judge/contributor for the second season, not sure when taping will start or when season 1 will end.

Whipped & Wrapped

The cast and crew have been beaten into submission. ^_^

We filmed the last three episodes and they have taken a break for the season, many of them won't be returning, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. We're sending out contracts for the new season and soon we'll start filming the next season-so that's a wrap.

We've decided to reward our mailing list subscribers by allowing them sneak peek access to the episodes early-sometimes a week early. We'll advertise this a bit more next season as well.

Behind

Pahala Shore is seriously behind that I'm ashamed. Not of myself of course, but of Pennelson Productions. It's the end of November and episode 34 just aired. We have four more episodes in the can that need to aire (three of them need to be filmed). That means the cast and crew will be working overtime this weekend since they all want the holidays off-bah!

That also means the network won't give me the green light for my new projects:

Adventures, Part II

Local Broadcasting

---The Yummy Channel still wants a few cooking series. We still have the Tatiana's Tasty Tidbets and Cooking with Claudia rights.

---SBN still wants a travel show, thinking of tapping AFM for that spot. They're still interested in converting some Pahala Shore, Suburb Sim, Arrendale Heights, etc episodes for the station.

---Several businesses have contacted me regarding commericals.

---The Children's Channel still desires a selection of children's shows.

I also need some new models for the A.Pentrignani line. I think I'll tap some of the models from MMAM that have been eliminated (Like T.Hanssen)

To Do

Things are going well, but the holiday season is fast approaching and things are getting hetic. The A.Pentrignani website is ready for publishing-STAR has a press release and we'll make an annoucement on the boards in the middle of the month.

Pahala Shore is behind, the editing crew needs to edit the episodes for airing this year to stay on track with the contracts and storylines. We're losing plenty of cast members in December-I must tell my assistant to plan a farewell party for them.

The Gloria Show is very very far behind. I haven't gotten much feedback for the holiday episode and may have to cancel it or go a different route-yes, I'll go a different route, I have the perfect plan.

Slipping

Things are slipping away from me.

The editing crew is behind schedule with Pahala Shore-they only have one episode edited for this month. It's time for me to crack the whip and lock the door and make them stay late to finish the editing.

Sent out memos for the next Gloria Show episode

Thinking about contracting the photo shoot out for A.Pentrigani since I need more models and a photo shoot idea. Yikies-where's my assistant-they have so much work to do!
